This is a bit of an open question, depending on how you use the fresh water: some drink it others don’t and use bottled water instead, which is what we do.

Unless you are worried about ‘wasting water’ which for me is a nonsense phrase as water is perpetual, I like to drain the fresh water regularly into the grey water so as to continuously flush things and I add water purification tablets to the fresh water as further precaution:
