Hi all again, great to see the forum is still buzzing with excitement, enthusiasm and packed with knowledge of our unique vehicles.

After moving from our Cali in 2016 to a Tribute 669, then a 4x4 car and a caravan. We decided to return to a Cali with our 11 and 13 year old boys (and a Vango Kela awning with bedroom!)

Its a July 2021 Ocean 4motion DSG with lots of extras, towbar, style pack etc. we collected on Thursday from VW Van Centre Leicester only 60 miles away from us.

Sunday night we went to test our new set up on our nearest campsite and it was fantastic except the EHU yellow light didnt show up on the control panel and batteries were not charging but were at 12.7 and >60hrs. Site warden checked EHU post and was ok, checked my cable and was ok, under seat fuses all 'looked ok' yet we could power our electric cooker off the kitchen mains socket so just focused on enjoying food, a walk round Rother Valley Country park in gorgeous weather before settling into our new sleeping arrangements followed by a cooked brekky Monday morning whilst our boys were outside running around playing.

Got home Monday lunchtime, emptied the van and phoned Sheffield van centre who simply invited me to pop in for a quick look. 2 technicians very kindly spent 30 mins removing the rear bed, plugging in EHU, checking batteries, checking the kettle lead plug on the charger, testing the passenger seat fuses etc. (but they didnt look at the fuse in the charger, I just stood back and observed) so they ran out of time so gave up an said it would need booking in. 10th September was first slot.

Called VW Leicester, they said their Cali technician was on holiday until next tuesday so bring it down then. I reeled off the 'not fit for purpose!' wasn't the EHU checked during PDI etc? He doubted the EHU was checked on PDI but was adamant nobody else would be familiar with the California - so next tuesday it is.

We will still squeeze in another few nights stop out in the meantime I'm sure. Ideal mental escape from my 'work-from-home' PLUS its the only way to get our boys out their bedrooms gaming on fortnite, fortnight, rust etc

We're back! Frank, Kay and boys.

Sorry if it's a dumb question, but did anyone check the breaker switch in the rear cupboard?

Yip, first check. Checked on/off several times too in case it was sticking. Very valid point and really wish it was easy as that and we didn't know about the switch!!!
