What’s inside my Thule awning

Wound the awning out today after washing the van down, and discovered these little broken bits on the right hand side. Any idea why it is /was… all seems to be operating fine as it is

Could be an old securing bracket from the Thule centre rafter support. If so you should see some old self tapping screw holes in the centre of the awning case and centre of rolled out awning.
