V wrote an article about her experience of a wild camp on Dartmoor, I found it incredibly emotive and I may be a little biased but think it is superb. Far better than my crude attempt.

Would recommend reading it if you've ever consider wild camping.

 
Great article from V, I spend a lot of my time up on Dartmoor both in the van and we walk the dogs up there , even when busy with all the tourists you can still find a quiet spot.. great place

Well-written.
I feel this way often when “wild parking” in the van. I don’t use “organised” sites very often, and when we do, they are nearly always small, quiet and simple.

I agree, I must admit we find ourselves going further to find those quiet spots but its getting harder and harder. Probably why we keep finding ourselves in Dartmoor too, but we don't tend to wild camp and Dartmoor don't allow it :(
