Wild variation in fuel consumption figures

Hi, travelling from Netherlands to UK yesterday and noticed my dashboard fuel consumption figures were all over the place varying from 17 - 200 mpg. Is this a sign of something I should be aware of?
Otherwise no issues and actual fuel consumption appeared to be fine.
Still had the same problem when departing Eurotunnel so switching engine off/on did not make a difference.

You've got it on the wrong setting it's showing current mpg rather than average mpg. You need to cycle through to the next setting with the button on the end of the indicator stalk!
