Right before I get banned from a really good website I would like to say I would not like to offend anyone in any way...I am also guilty of not reading the small print when you sign up to the website......so here goes

I have noticed there are a lot of single travellers on here and there may be potential to get together on a "travel " basis or whatever and experience things together. I love the lifestyle and fully understand the " go where you want " ethos but sometimes miss the company to mutually enjoy what we are doing

Any thoughts...Maybe a forum for singletons

I don't mean to sound overly critical, and I might be mistaken, but I suspect a singles meet would likely be a bit of a sausage fest and the few (if any) single ladies might be rather outnumbered!

It would be entirely up to any members who wished to go to a meet to make of it whatever they want.

I am a singles member on another, similar, website and never been to a meet yet, never wanted to go to one yet but still find it a useful resource to touch bases with other single travellers that I talk to and see if at all our paths may be crossing.

It's not just about "Meets", it's about the chance of meeting online friends when out and about and enjoying a glass of wine with company than sometimes spend a solitary evening watching the rain run down the windows.

We have a singles section.

It's tucked down in the Basement, "Fun and travel - travel - solo travellers" , hard to find, but persist.

I'm going to post one sticky thread "looking to meet", which anyone can attach to if they wish.

Brilliant Jen. Just posted in the singles section but the idea of meeting up with other single travellers if our paths cross is exactly what I too am hoping for. I'm a contented solo but, as you say, watching rain is not the best evening entertainment. Will post a thread when I start my island hopping in the spring. At the moment Daisy is being a trooper as I move house. So many uses - she is even going to be my kitchen for three weeks until my new internal one arrives. How fortunate am I !!
