Following on from the success of the 3page thread on how to toast bread :)
What do people use to heat up their croissants in the morning.? (assuming your far away from the village bakery)
We found the halogen oven to be the perfect solution in summer as regards the actual process, but its way too big to carry in the winter months when interior space is more important.

The perfect croissant does exist - but it doesn't involve heating it yourself.
It has to come straight from the bakers warm & be eaten with English strawberry jam. Surely the whole point of the Cali is to be able to get close enough to the bakers.

as my french is limited I frequently ask for "deux croissants sil vous plait and one of those cakes"

Yep, heating up a croissant.... Heresy.... :Iamsorry It's a no no...

I love croissants.

I find them totally addictive.

My waistline curses them :sad
Love them too.. Can't ever wait to get to France for the perfect croissant each time... mind you I'd have to walk the coastline of the UK to burn one off... But hey! Let's look at the positives...

A moment on the lips....A lifetime on the hips........As Joan Collins told me: "Eat it today wear it tomorrow".

If my post asking how to heat croissants is still around then i cant find it, I'll apologise for my rant now.
One question to all those whom recommended the ridge monkey (which arrived promptly from amazon two days after askingmy question)
Where do you all buy your croissants from ???
Mine tend to be at least 60 mm high .
Hence they wont fit in the B****y thing ! Not with the lid closed anyway.
Are you using it open just like a frying pan?
Or do you have flat croissants in your area?
There i feel much better now

Flatten the croissants
Mostly use for cheese/tuna etc baguettes / rye bread toasties.

I should have added that flat croissants dont appeal to me in the least, but thanks for taking the time to reply.

flat croissants don't work for me....

and no croissants work for a flat stomach :(

Could use the Cadac, but I vote for either;

a) delivery to my bedside by one of the small non-rent-payers that sleeps upstairs, or
b) an early morning wander down to the village bakery for a Grand Creme, croissant & Eau de Vie... :D
