Battery terminal cover missing

Hi all. T6.1. Shouldn’t this have a cover on it??
Or did the VW T6.1 accountants get involved here too?

My T6 van conversation has a cover. So you may be right.

My VW supplied/fitted battery has no cover on the +ve terminal but has one on -ve.

Thanks. I don’t like the idea of no cover on the +ive terminal. Can’t remember the last car I had without one.

There is on mine. Its a proper full cover over it all fixed in with
2 plastic screws. Ive lost one of the screws, fell in to the engine.
so if any one has a part number...

Adapted cover for T6i.
look for the cover with the cut out front. It could br the T5 and adapt as shown. Small screw holds secure.
When you spend this sort of money you would think this would be fitted.

I got my ocean in July 2023 and it has no cover. Did anybody ever resolve whether there is supposed to be one? I can imagine in a front end shunt metal work could touch the positive battery terminal

Thanks it would seem so. Strange no crash protection for the live terminal. I'm pretty sure there was on my previous 3 Californias

Ours is without the cover. We store the EHU cable in a bag on top of the enginebattery, so not an issue for us. The cover purely cosmetic and serves no function.
