Urgent advice request - catalytic converter warning light

I think this is relevant to the previous post #24

@trailtrotters Was this ever solved? Just curious and would be good for future reference to know what the root cause was.
Thank you for asking and yes it has always been my intention to provide an update knowing how helpful they can be. The good news is that everything appears to be well but as we have not had the weather or opportunity to take it on a decent trip yet we have delayed sharing our optimism in case it is misplaced.

We had to cancel our planned visit to the electrical specialist and ended up back with our VW dealer who I am pleased to say "Found loose connection under fuse box for engine light on the dash. Replaced oil pressure switch for coil light being on". The switch was £20 and the labour charge £300 so we felt we had got off lightly. Our subsequent local trips have been free of any warning lights so our fingers are firmly crossed that the whole debacle is now behind us.

Thanks for the update and good to hear that the root cause was most probably found. A loose connection sounds very plausible and matches the ‘hunch’.

Comes on as soon as we switch on the engine and stays on permanently. Does not flash.

I was reading this post yesterday April 27, 2025 as I have the same issue that appeared during our way towards Tarragona, Spain coming from the south. In the last 5 days, I was just driving with a speed of average 100 kph for a 200 to 300 kilometer range distances using the 5th gear of my California Coast 2017. With this kind of driving, this is using low RPM. Today April 28, 2025, I went to the VW Service Center in Tarragona and they said, they are fully booked and I can only bring the car next week. This is not possible as I have to be back in Zurich on May 5 for work, so I took the risk as the displayed DPF sign is not banking yet. In the highway towards Barcelona, I drove the car with over 2500 RPM
for a long time. Made a short break and had rest, check again the display and the warning sign is still there. Drove again for another hour or so with low RPM this time and made another break at the gas station. This time when I started again the engine, the warning DPF sign disappeared. Cross fingers when we will drive towards
