My ride is harsh, van (680) is never loaded with much, I find the ride harsh. Tyres are specced as "low rolling resistance" from new.

Has anyone fitted Michelin Crossclimate, do they even do it in the correct weight and size rating?

What does it drive like after.

No personal experience but there is an SUV version with a higher load rating. Do a search (assuming its working), its a common upgrade and I think most are happy, except maybe for the tread pattern which is my main critique.

What pressures are you running at?

Check those pressures are correct per the sticker on the drivers door , look the wrong way around.

Yes stickers recommend 72 psi, which is for a fully loaded vehicle with aircon and satellite dish.
There is no weight on the back, it's basically a empty box.

I fitted these to our 680

Michelin Agilis Crossclimate 235/60 R17C 117/115R 8PR, 3PMSF

And they work well, better off tarmac (Grassy muddy farm track) than the factory tyres and felt better in heavy rain.
I can’t recall if ride quality changed tho.

Definitely not a tyre expert but have found tyres a way to make a slight difference to the harsh ride. On my Ocean I have the Crossclimate 2 version. In the size I went for, I was able to adjust the pressure and get a good ride, I found them a good tyre in the wet and on wet fields. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the size I wanted, with the right load rating, for the 680. So ended up with BFG KO2s and have managed to do the same thing. It’s helped the ride and I expect it to be better when fully laden.

Have a late 2022 California Ocean 4motion 204 hp day. Changed the 65 psi Continental Eco Contact Van Tyres 215-60 R17 (C 109-107T & a spec of 104 H) tyres for 47 psi max Michelin crossclimate 2 XL 235-55 17 103 Y. This is an allowable spec as per plate on van. I could write a whole blog on why this has proven to be such a good decision - as per recommendations by so many other forum members, thank you! They also, as well as being M&S rated have the bonus of a 3PMSF snow/ice rating which tyres without chains apparently need to comply with in the French Alp winters by November 2024. Ride much softer, “maybe” lost 1 or 2 mpg on fuel but benefits far out weigh that as a possible downside. They look great as well.

I'll second this. My 22 plate Ocean had the 215 Conti tyres on and I found them harsh. We have CC2's on our Golf and they've been superb so I had them in correct load rating put on our Ocean. Massive transformation in ride quality even using the suggested pressures and noise levels dropped as well. Sold original tyres for £175 (they'd done 8k miles from new) and paid £630 for CC2's from local garage (Snetterton - 4 miles away) that fit for Black Circle - they also carefully checked over my wheels (Woodstocks) before swapping for any scratches (there were none)! They came recommended as they do a lot of tyre swapping for the Snetterton race circuit. I am very pleased with the swap and to be honest I think the Cali feels more solid - I felt the thin Conti's seemed skittish

I can only agree that fitting Cross Climate 2 tyres to my Cali Ocean made the ride noticeably less harsh than the the factory fit Bridgestone Turanzas - along with better grip and handling on pretty much all surfaces. Only downside is a very slight drop in fuel economy of maybe 2mpg.

Campervantime on YouTube posted a while back when they had Agilis Cross Climates fitted to their Westfalia Sven Hedin (more in line with a GC680 than a Cali Ocean). His initial impressions were very positive, noting an improvement to the harshness of the ride and slightly quieter at motorway speeds.

I have a 2016 Cali Ocean which as new came with Bridgestone Turanza 235 x 55 x17 103v these are a lot more comfortable ride I also use another set of wheels with winter tyers of the same size from November to April with no problems I did try a set of 215 x 60 x 17 Contivan they were bloody awful designed for delivery vans.

Out of interest what size KO2’s did you go for?

Had our 680 now for two weeks, which came with ContiVanContact 200s, (not the Eco’s) 235/60 R17C 117. Now driven 350 miles in all weather, found no problems with handling, good braking, especially in heavy rain and a smooth ride. Only issue was grip on grass, but that might have been me not being used to the auto gear box.

Noticed that these are not available in the UK, so will need to find an alternative when they need replacing, or if I need winter tyres as they are not rated for heavy snow. Will see how I get on as still early days really.

I have a t6.1 with cross climate 2 on 17in rims. I run 44psi on each wheel and the ride is better than my Mini.

I am running 235 CCs on my 17” Ocean. The ride is transformed from the orig factory 235s

I think my Agilis are more comfortable than my previous Conti vancontacts. Just as quiet as well.

As I understand it, if you put tyres with a greater circumference you should update the vehicle software, but it only has a small tolerance of sizes available.

If you fit bigger wheels/tyres the van will be going faster than it sensors read, aslo gearing will be affected.

Ours and most vans have adaptive cruise with radar/cameras to control this and brakes automatically.

It also affects collision avoidance if the van is moving faster than it thinks. All these safety features will be affected.

245 70 17 with a load rating of 119
Do you have any issues with catching? Do you have pics posted of them fitted? We have a 680 on order and have been looking at the KO2 or Michelins

No issues with them catching, and I have factory fitted mudguards. The lady at the tyre fitters was very thorough before she let me go, full lock to lock checks etc and all wheels.

Pics of front and rear.
