Apologies, I wasn't sure where to put this so figured "General" was a good place to start.... I'm sure it'll get moved if its in the wrong place.
Just wondering if anyone else saw the new Citroen Holidays hoping to take on the California world?

Its a no from me!!

all things considered, if I wanted that style of van, I would seriously consider it over the new California ocean/coast.

Unlike most of the copycats, this one comes with interesting new ideas. Both the rear bench and the whole kitchen block are removable. You can use the kitchen as an outdoor kitchen. Or use the van as a… van.

With it being a good bit cheaper than a California, it looks like a great alternative.

Height of 2.01m too so should fit under 2m barriers just fine unlike some of the competitors in this area. I quite like it.

The acres of MDF is not a good look and takes up valuable space. Moving away from that material was one thing VW did right.

Is it just me or does this not look like a CGI created view

It’s £15,000 cheaper than a Coast and £22,000 cheaper than an Ocean. So yes, I would certainly hope that a California uses better and more luxurious materials ;)

But that’s the whole point of this van. It’s cheap and cheerful as you’d expect at this price. But it has some interesting and unusual ideas that make it stand apart from the glut of California clones and all those identical-looking carpeted conversions.

I’ve just watched a YouTube video on one. I’m quite impressed. Love the removable kitchen idea. No wind out awning, outdoor table or chairs though

It was on our list as backup if we could not have got our T6.1. before it was removed as T7 was not what we wanted or like 100% would have jumped ship.

Despite the low price, it comes with a toilet, outdoor shower, solar panel and towbar prep as standard. The more I look at it, the more I’m impressed at what they’ve done there at that price.

Interesting! So Citroen is one of the first to fill the gap VW themselves have opened with their New (T7) California (Multivan based). Just opened the Dutch Citroen website where it is introduced but no prices yet. Interesting options though with the floorspace and kitchen. Curious on how it drives though, which is good for the T5 and T6's Cali's with their MV suspension and luxury. Also no engine options known yet. (Diesel, Petrol, Hybrid?). If they, as I suspect, want a quick piece of the pie they will probably be competitive with trade in prices. Thanks for sharing @AdamsFamily

In the U.K., they kept things really simple: https://www.citroen.co.uk/content/d...ew-Holidays-price-and-specification-guide.pdf

There’s a choice of one trim with one engine (diesel) and one gearbox type (automatic). Optional equipment are: an alarm, a spare wheel and a towbar. And that’s it.

This is the most beautifully simple setup I’ve seen in a long time.

Looks great. And 2 burners in the kitchen, luxury!! Fairly utilitarian and perhaps lacks some of the ‘design’ features of a California, but definitely interesting at a competitive price. Shame it’s French of course, but you can’t have everything.

I had an invite to go view one of these having registered my interest, no time this weekend though

So it's a 3rd Party Conversion with a separate Warranty for the Conversion, separate to the Base Vehicle.

"The converted elements of Citroën Holidays benefit

from a 3-year warranty provided by Star Mobil which

can be repaired at Star Mobil dealers across the

country (contact 00 33 3 2939 6280) "
