Differences with the T6.1 beaches

I just spec'd up as close as possible T7 Beach on the VW website, it came to £67k, I'm sure I could get a few grand off that if I went into store but it would still be over £60k.

I know the T7 has a few extra's as standard that the T6.1 didn't have. The double sliding doors are nice and overall better tech.

I'll see how I go with this T6.1, I am new to this kind of vehicle. If all goes well, we may trade it in for a second hand T7 in a couple of years.

VW are not budging much on the price, they're only offering to discount by £250. I did put the deposit down before the pictures went on the website, it hasn't even been cleaned yet.
For comparison, I reckon my T6 Beach has depreciated by about £2k per year. I wouldn’t be put off by the £50k price. It’s a really high spec and will always command a premium price. Use it for a couple of years and you will have a good idea what you like and don’t like. Then you can decide whether to change for a T7. My money is on you keeping the T6.1 ;)
Word of advice - Don’t go buying loads of gear you think you will need. Use items you already have where possible. We’ve all been there!

Can anyone help me with what loose items should come with the vehicle? I know these can be lost or misplaced by dealers or the previous owners haven't passed them on. If anything is missing, I'd like them to replace it.

Here's what I've got so far:
  1. 2 key fobs and manual
  2. Alloy wheel locking nut
  3. Inside front window covers
  4. Auxiliary heating remote - Is this separate to the key fobs?
  5. Comfort mattress
  6. This vehicle says it comes with a 'Luggage compartment cover'. I can't see this in video in the back of the vehicle.
  7. Table in the side door. Chairs in the back door.
  8. Awning crank handle

1. Yes
2. Yes - I would personally ditch the locking wheel bolts though.
3. Yes - Windscreen and side windows.
4. Yes it’s a separate fob. Maybe check it’s working. Ask for a demo.
5. Yes saw that in the boot
6. Not sure. Sounds like a net of some kind. I think you have the option for the net in the roof. You can see that when you open the hatch. It’s just to put clothes on. There should also be a big net that clips across the front of the upstairs bed to prevent children from falling out. Don’t think I saw that, but it is standard equipment.
7. Table will be in the sliding door. You can unzip the boot cover to check the chairs. In between the chairs there should be a T shaped piece of polystyrene that often falls out. It’s only stuck on, so check for that.
8. Yes there should be a white handle. Get them to demo the awning.

In the boot on the left side there is a cover open it and check the clips are there. Inside there should be a jack and bar for the wheel bolts. Lots carry a breaker bar in their vans. Something to consider later.

There should be a mosquito screen for the sliding window.

I saw the euro plug adapter for the hookup so that’s there.

There should be a big door bin and a small one. They often go missing so check for that.

I think the warning triangle is kept in the drivers door, so have a look. If not, ask where it is.

The multiflex board is set too far forward by the way. I’m sure they’ll move it further back to show you the lower bed mode.

They should do a full handover to show you all the functions. Don’t rush that process and make sure they do it thoroughly.

I can’t think of anything else. It looks a really nice well kept Cali!

Looks a nice vehicle and good spec-check as what @Kayleigh has listed. The mossie screen may not be there as it was an option I believe although some got it and others had to configure. Check the boot cover plate for Jack as one of the clips (yellow one) comes out. Also check the lug is in place for the fuel flap as these can go missing.
Get the dealer to pop the roof up and give it all a good check round-scissor mechs and bellows etc. Any other questions or help then there are plenty of folk on here to hand.

Wow, thank you @Kayleigh and @Stargazing , that is a huge help. You really know your stuff. This forum is invaluable.

I'll send this list over to the dealer for them to check before the vehicle is ready.

I'm probably going to get this delivered, I don't think the driver will do a hand over. The cost of delivery compared to train tickets to get down there isn't much difference and we'd have to take a whole day to go down and come back.

My next task will be researching and buying the essential kit we need for the vehicle to go to a campsite for a night or two.
