Hi
This may already have been covered so apologies if so. I couldn’t find anything on search.
When I first start up my MY 24 Ocean when it’s at home (or anywhere else where my phone is connected to a local WiFi), when car play starts everything is fine, but as I drive away, my phone (iPhone 17) doesn’t seem to want to lose the WiFi connection. Rather than just dropping it and connection to a mobile signal (4/5G), it still displays the WiFi icon.
This means that Apple Maps etc won’t work as it can’t get a signal. This was happening with my old phone (iPhone 14), so I don’t think it’s the phone. Could be CarPlay I guess?

Anyone else have this or know of a solution?

Thanks

Are you sure your IPhone is not connected to your cali (internal) wifi settings iso your cali beeing connected to your Iphone network?

I had this (our Van is a 2017 so it may not be the same).
My phone tethered to the Vans internal wifi but as there was no data plan nothing happened.
If that sounds similar, forget the Van’s internal network (on your phone’s wifi).
This way Apple Car play will use your phones data again.

On our T6 I think the idea behind it was that where there’s a Campsite single access wifi, the Van became the family hotspot.

Hope all that makes sense - if not, shout. If I’m barking up the wrong tree, likewise.

Thanks for the thoughts. I think I’ll try telling the phone to forget the van’s WiFi to start with - see if that does the trick.
I’ll report back…

Agree about not tethering to the vans own WiFi. Without a data plan it’s of no use. However you’re not able to use the van as a hotspot when on a site with WiFi., it would be nice though because those single access WiFi systems drive us nuts!

Also make sure your phones Bluetooth is paired to the van for your CarPlay apps.
