been overly organised and already got it booked in but also checked that they would be 'checking' everything over so anything that needed doing is done before warranty expires. Been told they do their normal safety checks of tyre treads etc but thats it. Viewed by VW as creating jobs for themselves ( dealerships ) therefore down to us to check everything!
sadly i do already have a list which does include the start of bubbling on my roof at the front.......does anyone else have issues they've had so i can be super stringent and check on my vehicle too.
thanks in advance. Wasn't sure where best to post this as wasn't a warranty section and it's not technical so feel free to move to wherever you feel best. :)

Mine up for first MOT and booked with request to give it a pre-warranty expiry check at the VW dealers.
Told they don't do such a check but if they spot anything then will let me know. Basically up to me to point out anything.
I am going to do a wheel tapper and shunter impression on my springs to check for cracks but cannot think of much else as it is running like a train.....
Fingers crossed and touching wood.......

Now you have me worried. Are you saying you have bubbling on your roof or you are checking for it?

I thought the 2015 models had the bubbling problems fixed.

Apparently not so I'm afraid. You should check at intervals.

yes me too and sadly i have spotted the beginnings of on mine- really pays to wash your own van as wouldn't have seen it otherwise.

thanks those checks beyond me so will hope if were an issue on servicing would be spotted? engine wise mine hasn't missed a beat since i got it....interior and camping side been little things and fridge not working is only major issue which was sorted after some faffing as local garage not cali dealership.

Are you talking about the Elevating Roof section or the solid section above the windscreen?

My 2014 van has no evidence in either area as yet. Kept outside and washed occasionally.

it can only be seen when roof raised ( noticed when trying to waterproof canvas- that was a fail but another thread sometime) its above area where sun visors directly above on roof - only small at the mo and unless i'd been doing the canvas and looking down onto it wouldn't have seen it.

So the Fixed Section where it meets the Windscreen?
Interesting as that part of the problem was supposed to have been fixed in Model Year 2015 , so from mid 2014 onwards.
Can you post a photo please?

Hi Daisy Duke, You can have the MOT done up to a month early. If it passes the MOT ok and it drives OK, no funny noises from engine, no unusual loss of oil, power steering fluid ok, coolant ok etc. All the camping equipment working ok - roof, gas, water, fridge, heater. Then surely you can be happy to keep enjoying your Cali into the post warranty period?

Ours has just passed its 2nd MOT with no issues at 42,500 miles - fingers crossed :)

We do however have blistered paint on the roof front panel and all round the edge of the roof - but this hasn’t reduced our enjoyment of Bluey :)

I'm at the same stage, first MOT in August, and I was hoping to find a checklist of common warranty issues. So far I haven't. If you find one lease post a link.

As I said in a previous post my May’15 SE suffered from corrosion to the section above the windscreen. Fixed (eventually) in November ‘17 with the “cap” repair. VWCV said at the time that it was the only recurrence of that type of corrosion since the 2014 “fix”. Not sure if there have been any other cases since.

issues never stop the fun but money can hinder opportunities so being frugal if you like, to ensure the warranty is used if needed. I don't have a money pot growing on a tree sadly :)
