Battery management issues VW New California T7

Looks like I can’t edit. I should have mentioned, we intend to hire both / or at least have extended test drives of both.
Everyone if you get the update done make sure the dealer actually checks that the leisure batteries charge from the hook up when it’s done..mine did not and has gone back ..check also the 240v sockets work in the van from the hook up power!!!

Hi - it would be really useful if you could ask your dealer for the VW Technical Product Information (TPI ) number for the update, so I can instruct my dealer, who seem far less knowledgeable.
Count on it!!!

It’s the 27T7 RECALL update …done on 12th July!…my dealer is waiting for be to come back to them tomorrow hopefully to see why hook up power isn’t charging..

To be clear the update last thursday fixed the panel which now shows the correct leisure battery voltage ( showed 5.0v before when in fact the batteries were tested to 13.4v which is fine) and percentage is now correct and time left to discharge is correct..and shows a green cable and plug on the screen when. External 240v
The down side is that next morning after leaving the external 240v to top up the batteries ( van and two leisure batteries) the batteries were not charged hence the van is back with them ..
Mine is a very early 2025 diesel ocean

ok....good news....dealer disconnected all the batteries and reloaded the car with the recall update 27T7 again..starting from a "blank canvas".this time.
All working now and ive tested and tested it...external 240V charges boith the leasure batteries and main battery when pluged in .all indications on the panel work as expected...thats on the diesel at least!
shout out to BREEZE in havant who sorted it double quick time ...they havent seen too many of the new vans but they are on it!

Thought I’d share a couple of teething issues on my van to look out for on pick up that caused me a bit of avoidable grief.
1, Check the drain taps on your water tanks are closed. Mine were left open, so my garage got flooded when I filled fresh water.
2, check under front seats before rotating. Seat control unit was not installed correctly under the passenger front seat, when I rotated it, it cut the wires, blew a fuse and immobilised the van, most amusing 1 day after pick up.:)

Thanks for the reminder !
I’ll download the checklist, from the VIP section.
And put your checks on there too.
It’s a long distance from Brum to return, to receive missing items !

Yep..all ok ..just a little surprised my diesel ocean had no wireless phone charging .. not fitted !…no problem but odd as others on the phev do it seems!
Interesting that your diesel van does not have the wireless charging - less to go wrong I guess :)
Great news that all is ok and you have the charging sorted!

Really helpful information! I bet it was fun getting that lot sorted :)

NOTE TO NEW OWNERS.

Unless VW has made changes to the PDI, Pre Delivery Inspection, the PDI is only for the base vehicle. Nothing will be checked regarding the Habitation equipment, unless you have a very good Dealership .

That would explain my issues after pick up
