What have you bought for your Cali today :-)

Five carpet tiles and a pack of new Stanley knife blades from B&Q.

While not as flush or plush as others, it’s a far better price especially as this is only going to be used temporarily for fair weather family camping. I may go so far as to even remove the waterproof seat covers which have been a permanent feature for the past nine years of van ownership. Although that would probably tempt fate with a massive spillage…

Very nice!
Do they slip about much? Or, did you fix them in some way?

@acer The large tiles don't move but the smaller offcuts can so I put down strips of ducktape, sticky side up, before locating the carpet tiles. That way, you don't affect the original VW floor and the tiles stay together.
Ours have been down since April this year, we've had 6 weeks in Europe plus another couple of trips out and they are still looking good. Clean with a stiff brush and dustpan.
At the end of this season, I will probably replace the one in front of the sear drawer as that is showing slight wear. It gives me something to do!

…“put down strips of ducktape, sticky side up”. Good idea! :thumb

Why would you add that to your Cali?
Good question! Add a few drops of essential oils to the water reservoir and it’s like an aromatherapy diffuser to refresh and humidify the air, moisten skin, improve sleeping and fills van with pleasant fragrance. The night light function is also useful if you have small kids. Multiple settings and auto-switch off. Bet you’re now sold on the idea!

Do you leave it in the 12V socket? Does it draw a charge even if nothing is plugged into it?

I have a similar thing plugged in all the time and as it’s not ignition switched (always on), my guess is that there is a minimal draw. So I wouldn’t leave it in when you don’t go away on a regular basis to charge the leisure batteries.

I don’t leave it in all the time. Similar to Sanders response, I would also think that it does draw a minimal charge from the leisure batteries when nothing’s plugged in as there’s at least one internal LED.
