I was planning on sorting my suspension with crs , called to admiral to declare the mods...

Err... no we don't cover anything other than manufacturers options...

Completely useless, and a shocking offshore CC who spend all their time trying to placate you and not solve your problem.

Anyone know a multicar mod friendly insurer ?

Multicar is clever a marketing gimmick, to stop people from switching.

You will probably get same or cheaper prices by getting individual policies for both vehicles, and find one that will cover the mods; Below worked out well for us:

Admiral is one of the worst insurers.
Had two family members who have had nightmares with them. Avoid.
I pay an extra £1k a year on my FFRR to be with NFU, I know they will deal with any claim in a decent manner. And not get fobbed off for 3 to 4 months (like family members were with admiral)
And the prices offered for complete loss was an absolute joke with admiral.
They will spend 10x the amount of claim to wriggle out of it.

I’m currently with Admiral. I’ve never needed to make a claim, but with the renewal due in a few weeks, I will be looking for specialist motorhome/campervan insurance.

I am planning on getting out before renewal and will take the hit on cost.

Had enough of their poor customer service experience

Ive got mods listed on my admiral policy. It was an online change. I swapped wheels on the policy without calling or premium increase.

Agree entirely
I had a multi car policy with Admiral a few years ago and when it came to a claim on a write off from an uninsured driver who was completely at fault, Admiral offered 'rock bottom' and were totally useless at communicating. Had to get Ombudsman to sort, which they did.
Stick with a dedicated MH/CV insurer. I'm with CaravanGuard who have real knowledgeable staff.

That helpful info. Thank you. I will put them on my shortlist for quotes.

Absolutely concur.

Multicar is a farce. Invariably cheaper in my experience to take the pain and insure separately with appropriate specialists.

No such thing as a one size fits all underwriter. They all price risk differently.

Multicar seems to be hit and miss.
We've done will with our LVE multicar renewals over the past few years and couldn't find lower quotes by shopping around. But this year it was cheaper to leave the Cali with them and move my wife's car to RAC via Topcashback (and bag £45 Topcashback in the process). Same cover, same excesses, etc.

Got LV multicar. Was great first year, pants last year, great again this year, came down 300 quid.

In my experience no std low risk insurer likes mods apart from specialist boy racer ones.

Just got a quote from Comfort. They only cover up to 90 days per policy year in Europe. Is that the norm for campervan insurance or do some allow for longer stays?

Some do. Caravan & Motorhome used to.

That's good to hear as just switched from LV to Caravan Guard.

Up to 270days with our insurer.

I’m now with LV multicar - Cali is std but my mx5 is not and I declared all the mods - the price increase was modest.
