Does anyone own this?... Im assuming there isn't enough room when installed to tilt and open the tailgate?

We have the Atera Genio Pro (without the 3rd bike adaptor) and find it excellent, very sturdy. It comes with an adaptor in the box to allow the rack to tilt further and clears the Cali tailgate by about 2”.

Yes us too,... I love it. But Im trying to find a place to store some Kyaks and I wondered if I could find somewhere on the rack for at least one...

Atera made the smart for two bike rack and that had accessories for snowboards and skis so a kayak isn't much of a stretch, do you have slots in the uprights for accessories?

dont think so,.. just the two holes in the base to slide the 3rd bike accessory into

Amazingly there is, as the 3rd bike sits higher on the optional 3rd rail.
You do need to adjust the metal cable when you receive it to allow it to hinge to its furthest extent (all designed and in the manual), and as long as you're not parked with your rear uphill it will let you tilt the 3 bikes back to (just) let the tailgate pass the rack.
If you had a bike with wide handlebars on the 3rd rail, that might compromise its ability to tilt far enough.
It's a quality rack, the only downside being that its pretty heavy at 21kg. I can lift it, but the Mrs struggles to get it on the towbar alone.

oooh brilliant!

Do you have a photo of it folded down?... Ive already adjusted the cable and used the carrier for 2 bikes on many trips - its just perfect that we can get to the boot so easily with the bikes on or off.

My idea is to either put bikes on rails 2 and 3 and then use the one closest to the boot to strap a small kayak to, or to some hom work out a way to strap it to the 3rd rail. Do you think this could work (obviously we still need to be able to lift the boot when loaded)?

I haven’t unfortunately, but you can see how with 3 bikes loaded it’s not much deeper than 2IMG_0197_Original.jpeg
