Well summer has certainly come to an end here is France, we have escaped the floods to the West of us but we are seeing some terrible scenes on TV with over a thousand people being evacuated from numerous campsites.

Hope everyone is ok, be safe

Camping near rivers is very nice , until heavy rain comes and the river rises within' a few hours....
Some campsites are build you can park up that close to the water it can turn out bad. This happens every year somewhere in France.
Seen the news also . Ardeche region where we been many times before , been there a few years ago when the rain lasted for two days without stopping and everything floded , glad we where in a rental house at that time.

They just said on the news that over 1,600 people have had to abandon their campervans and caravans at multiple campsites, how terrible

Also just read that a temporary campsite was build without local permission in a flooding area ....! Thats where the 75y old men is missing .
Places we regulary visit in the Ardeche where people are pitched up camping are under water in the winter , not a good idea imo. bearing in mind heavy rainshowers are more and more common now a days due global warming (so they say)
