Anyone using OZ Rally Raid ET 0 wheels?

Looking good. They really are a nice wheel. The matte finish is more satin and does give the van a great stance. And they’re TÜV certified!
Easy to clean too and the overall finish on them is excellent. Made in Italy with all the boxes and packaging made here in Devizes, Wiltshire (so did my bit to support local!).

I mentioned the TÜV / NAD / VIA Certifications to my insurers (Noted on my policy as non-standard wheels) and they didn’t affect my premium at all (LV had initially quoted me an additional £12 a year for fitting non-std 17” wheels).

I doubt insurance models are sophisticated enough to take certifications into account. It’ll be a Y/N answer to modified wheels and some will charge and some won’t.

For me, the certifications simply give a bit of peace mind as to quality and safety. I’ve had none TÜV certified wheel before and it didn’t bother me.

They are lovely, chunky wheels which just shout quality. Their (Oz’s) history also provides Interesting reading.

I've been mulling new wheels for ages now. I like the look of the Oz Rally Raids. Seems a lot of folk are going for 235/65 on their 17" wheels (and it's pretty much the only size quoted on the Elite Wheels website). Nobody has mentioned the spare though. Not sure what I've got bolted under the van but it doubt its the same circumference as a 235/65.

They also supply the 235/55 R17 103XL size and others, just ask them for a price. Unless you’ve got a 4motion Cali, the standard factory spare wheel/tyre will do as a spare even if the circumference is slightly different. The only thing to be aware of is that you’ll need to keep 5 x original VW wheel bolts in the van for the spare wheel - the OZ Rally Raids use a different wheel bolt -I didn’t think of this until the fitter at Elite mentioned it.

Very pleased with them on the Ascot Grey. Being slightly wider (8J) than standard wheels they give the van a nice wide stance. These have my original 235/55 R17 Cross Climate 2 tyres on - which after 4500miles were hardly worn at all.

Very smart! did doing this affect your mpg? i have 17" davenports with bridgestone A005 which give me upto 48mpg on a run but i don't like how the silver alloys look. So looking to do something similar.

Switching to the Cross Climate 2 tyres in the same size (235 55 R17 103 XL) I lost maybe 2mpg. I get mid 40s on a mixed run. But they are grippier (esp on grass, gravel and most noticeably wet roads), quieter and more comfortable. They also wear better. I run them at the same pressures (F44, R42 unladen, F45, R45 laden). I’ve heard good things about the Goodyear Vector 4 Season too but haven’t tried them myself.

Good to know, thank you. I guess you have more tyre tread in contact and hence more rolling resistance with the tyre stretched across a wider rim.

Hi, your Cali looks awesome! did you take the wild peaks off?? I’ve got an Ascot grey Cali, with sport pack on it so has black alloys.
But we are due to do a trip to cairngorms in Feb. Contemplating all season tyres on my existing rims or go for rally raids with wild peaks on. What’s your thoughts on comfort, ability and looks??

Might be very interested in your Black Springfields if you decide to go down the rally raids route, so long as they are in great condition :)
