Armrest repair

Repaired my arm rest today and replaced the lobbed boss. This is a not a replacement item from VW so aftermarket. The one I bought for £7.75 was nominally smaller diameter so I had to shim it out with tape (5 winds of electrical tape) in order to mirror the feel / movement of the original arms (a little too much play / too light without taping).

Worth sharing. Sadly VW only sell the complete armrest

I have to say I broke it last weekend and have been lost without it.

Hmmm, just found out that the profile offers slightly less lift than the original.... so I wouldn't recommend that one. It may be high quality but accurancy is another matter.

Armrest screw

Hi all. Replaced seat covers today. Really pleased with them but had a bit of a disaster screwing one of the arm rests back on turned too tight and the screw sheared off. The remaining piece is still inside !! Is there any way of removing the housing or is this going to be an expensive trip to...
