Hi

I m off to Scotland soon and have been reading about the best way to keep midges at bay. One suggestion is to have a fan on as midges can't operate in wind of 5mph plus. So, has anyone ever bought a fan for their awning/van and if so which one please?

Thanks in advance.

For goodness sake don’t have the fan set on sook instead of blaw or you will be sooking them in and you will be doomed.
Doomed ah tell ye !

I’m not convinced the ‘vents’ at the top of the pop top will stop midges.
Having spent a fair amount of time in Scotland in a tent watching the blighters come through ’no see um’ mesh I would be treating that mesh with DEET and probably putting gaffer tape on them when it’s a still night.
