Awning Rattles

We picked our new Cali at the beginning of April - so far only one trip, but normal service was interrupted by a visit to our daughter in NYC. One or two niggles, mainly of no real significance, but we have traced an annoying rattle to the awning. Application of soft adhesive rubber pads to the obvious places to damp the retracted legs etc have helped, but not sorted the main issue, which seems to be down to the main roller mechanism.

Any similar experiences/solutions to the problem?

Someone recommended bluetac. We tried and it works. Need to apply to legs but also underside of the aluminium cover enclosing the awning when it is retracted. The. Bluetac stickiness binds things but is not too strong to prevent the mechanism from opening. Can still hear wind noise from awing at speed. Don't know what to about that.
