Bak Rak

Having found that a roof box upset the roof mechanism on my previous Cali I'm trying to avoid its use on our new one. We have a towbar and I have been looking at options. All the boxes look nice but they don't seem designed to tilt enough with out fully releasing them to allow the tail gate to open. The bak rak looks a more reasonable cost option and I was thinking of attaching my own heavy duty box. Does anyone have experience with this same issue or the bak rak? Thanks!
