Looks like I can’t edit. I should have mentioned, we intend to hire both / or at least have extended test drives of both.
Can I ask what dealer this is through? (I’m assuming you are in the UK?) thanksGreat News!
I was contacted by the garage and got an appointment later this month to install a larger software update - to address the issues.
BTW: My battery never reached more than 12,4 V - even fully charged. So I suspect it was damaged during the depletions. I wrote them hat is should be exchanged also. I hope they agree.
Turn your phone 90° and his info says Germany. Can I ask what dealer this is through? (I’m assuming you are in the UK?) thanks

You’re welcome.Never even thought of that - ta
Ah man. That’s rubbish. So I’ll just join in on this tread as I’ve just picked up my phone 2.0 diesel ocean 4 days ago and it appears to have a similar issues. Left idle for 2 days and the engine battery was at 50%, just barely started, was 100% when parked. App shows 3amp drawn on engine battery, which is way to high, normal values are around 0.3amps. Keyless is off, Bluetooth was off, camping mode and WiFi were on, I’m going to try it with them off and see what happens. Any updates from anyone would be appreciated.
Tbh, I’ve not tried that yet, I’ll give it a go and see what else brakes, it’s not been the best of starts with this van, not what I was expecting.Ah man. That’s rubbish.
What happens if you plug in EHU, does the starter batt charge ?
So all appears to be ok with hook up, both batteries charging. Thank goodness for that, any more faults and the van is going back.Tbh, I’ve not tried that yet, I’ll give it a go and see what else brakes, it’s not been the best of starts with this van, not what I was expecting.
Do you know if it’s an over the air update, or a dealer visit ?I was told yesterday by VW dealer that sofware is now ready to solve batteries issue. Lets see....
Dealer visit.Do you know if it’s an over the air update, or a dealer visit ?
That’s handy, mine is booked in for a couple of weeks time so I’ll see what happens. In the meantime I’ve been experimenting with setting on mine and have found (as others have said) that if Bluetooth, WiFi and camping mode and keyless entry are all off, batteries have remained at 100% for the first time over 24hr period of being idle. I did also notice that checking the VW connect app (not the tour one) draws 14amps on its own when it wakes the van upDealer visit.
Over the air updates are normally base vehicle updates.
Is yours a PHEV ?We are at dealers picking up our new van. Have been questioning them all week about the charging issue.
Apparently on checking our VIN number has not been affected by this.
Will obviously be monitoring very carefully.
Yes it isIs yours a PHEV ?
Good to hear.Update addressing this issue is out. Check your VIN in your national VIN recall check page. Still to be seen if the update effectively addresses the issue.
Best regards
As this appears to be just a software update it’s not listed as a safety recall in the uk database, I will contact dealer to discuss. Batteries still 100% this morning with everything turned off. This resolved the drain when my vehicle is left standing, but obviously no good when your out and wanting to use these features. Going to switch everything back on today and see how we go.Update addressing this issue is out. Check your VIN in your national VIN recall check page. Be interesting to see what happens when all is switched back on...As this appears to be just a software update it’s not listed as a safety recall in the uk database, I will contact dealer to discuss. Yes I think I’ve seen that one. My issue is more with the engine battery being drained. My 6.1 would drain down 3-4weeks before it asked for a restart, T7 cali is 3 days. As soon as we get down to around 50% charge we’re looking at sub 12v. When we get to around 11.8, that’s getting into non start territory.Be interesting to see what happens when all is switched back on...
There is a video in utube where it is reported that the battery for the leisure side will be dead after a couple of weeks (13.5 days) - I do not think this is the case with my T6.1 - maybe this is part of the same issue?
Video states it drains at 0.2amps when van not in use.
Far from good. Owners face being stranded, with a dead van. Fingers crossed this update will sort it.Yes I think I’ve seen that one. My issue is more with the engine battery being drained.
