Hi All I am the proud owner of a 2016 VW Beach used for both work and play! I've driven transporters for many years and having ditched the touring caravan decided to combine the two and we are loving it!

:welcome

Your very close to my location !

Obligatory Photos of the Van ?

Good Morning All - can anyone help please?

For some time now the engine on our 2016 VW Beach occasionally sounds like the fan is still running when when you stop and at the same time we also have a engine like smell in the cabin (its almost gritty sort of you can almost taste it)!

Any thoughts??

Thanking you in advance for advice.

Hi, I have the same thing. 2016 Beach 150. I believe it’s when you switch off while it’s trying to do a DPF regen. Hopefully someone else will confirm. I notice it more after a series of shorter journeys, rarely get it after a long run.

Could just be the engine heater still running (starts up for temps are <5°c).

Most probable cause is a DPF regeneration. Shortist journeys of 30 miles or less repeatedly mean the DPF fails to regenerate and eventually will block due to accumulation of particles and then Dashboard light and Limp mode. Regular longish trips, at speed, help the DPF regenerate. You can use an OBD reader like Carista or OBD11 to confirm this and keep an eye on the DPF.
