So we arrived back home at 8 pm after a 5.5 hr drive north from the north Devon coast... Drove down Friday morning.. Had 3 days of fantastic camping in the Cali... First proper "camp" in her since we got her. Looking forward to many more such trips away.
So where you all been this fab sunny bank holiday weekend?

yes had a lovely day down at West Wittering today with some friends who've just bought a Cali too..nice to have Cali company )

We live just 15 mins away from West Wittering but we sadly don't get there much these days as it normally takes over an hour to get in on a nice day. What was the queue like today?

we got in no problem at 9.20..we never go unless we can get there with the lark..usually leave at 8am..sometimes earlier..love getting there before everyone else.
there were big queues around 4 with people leaving..but again we always stay to the bitter end..we left about 7.30 but there was an accident about a mile up the road and got caught in that (

We were at north morte farm in mortehoe for the weekend unlike you we only live about 12 miles away though!

Went to the Isle of Wight. What a stunning weekend, not often you get a bit of colour* on a bank holiday weekend!

Need to clean the van now for next weekend

Better go to work first though.

We went to Winchelsea, East Sussex on the spur of the moment on Saturday pm and stayed to Monday pm. Glorious weather, but a bit chilly overnight so glad to use our home-made roof wrap for the first time (made from radiator foil as per a suggestion elsewhere on this forum!). Used our leveling ramps for the first time too (wasn't sure how that would work with the Khayam Motordome, but no problem at all), and got to use our Cadac Safari Chef in anger too! Very relaxing time, and great to have some decent weather :)

Local ish party Friday night and stayed in the van, then stuck around. Two mins from the beach so we often stick around; it was lovely!

We were planning a trip to The Lakes but a last minute change due to weather forecast took us to North Devonia, and v nice it was too. Plenty of van envy from those tent types. :bananadance

Loads of Calis, both T4 and 5 about.

M5 was a car park between Tiverton and Brizol last night sadly. Ho hum.
Would the sensible option be to just scrap bank holidays and let everyone take a day's holiday when they wanted, thus avoiding chaos on the roads? Or is that too logical?

Van already turned around and prep'd for next weekend.

We were at Caffyns Farm near Lynton (North Devon). Went down late Saturday afternoon, just got back.

It's been a real scorcher of a weekend. We were the only people on the site last night!! Peace and tranquility doesn't even begin to describe!

Took the mountain bikes and tried some good trails, very hilly though!

A superb weekend of exploring in the Cali

we had a superb day at the VW Show held at Stanford Hall Leicestershire Sunday 5th May.
There were several Calis i spotted 2 of which were with the T4 / T5 forum, also Leicester VW had a pitch on which they were displaying a cali,a beach, and the new caddy camper.
There were also several displays including Audi's and porsche's, the fantastic weather also made a great day out even better.

Red Shoot campsite , Fritham New Forest a lovely friendly campsite.
Adjacent pub for good food and cider.

Lots of Cali's company on-site, 3 blue, 2 black T5 and 1 white, 1 green T4

Went to Ashbourne in the Peaks. Lovely site and a chance to see how cold you could get! Had a good play with a Khyam sun canopy for a more lightweight camping experience. Gave the Beach a feeling of being our home, not just parked up. With a wind break around it and the seats under the canopy it was
private. We tried out our new Cadac Safari Chef which was great for frying, and fantastic for pancakes, really fast to cook, so good for feeding the kids. There were lots of caravans about, plus tents. We also saw a couple of nice T5 conversions including a bright orange one, with an Outdoor Revolution tech canopy which did look good, as it has side panels for more shelter.

Right... Off to plan next trip....
