"Bike Porn"-your rides and how/where you use them

Cheers, I’ll look into this, it’s a mile swim, luckily my work place is on the shoreline of Ullswater, so will have plenty of opportunities to swim, but it’s bloody freezing at the moment, , so I’m going to bike and run for two months, loose some excess weight before I. Invest in a wetsuit, it’s turning out to be an expensive sport
Would not even think of sticking a toe in open water until April at the very earliest. Cold water shock is very real and can be a killer.

thing about swimming is good technique counts for a lot, and of the three disciplines you can get quicker with swimming for the fewest number of training hours put in in (then running, and bike takes the longest).

good luck!!

Definitely waiting a few months, I’m a bit of s wus when it comes to cold water, I’m going to book a block of coaching swim lessons when things open up, iv got to start from scratch really, luckily my partner is a very good strong swimmer, so a good training partner, just she’s not able to teach me....I’m a crap pupil.....

Well, women tend to be better natural swimmers than men, as men get all macho and try and power their way through the water....after 50 meters they are knackered and the women (with their excellent technique) go sailing past!!

Just remember, head down, bottoms up.....the flatter in the water you are, the less you are fighting the resistance.

Too right I’m finished after 50 meters, iv been watching swimming and beginners triathlon on the you tube for weeks, it’s getting serious now, lol, what have I done...

reminds me of the look on the face of my first tutor when I told her during my first lesson that, so far, I had learnt swimming online :D

Sometimes it don't go so great. Both Chris and I ... a local photographer usually march all over Dartmoor on our Cube Kathmandu Hybrids ... but not on this occasion. I am ahead of myself as our Coast arrives in Sheffield in April!

Cold water training is a thing...the body's thermostat can be trained just like everything else.

So Santa dropped off an upgrade. Apparently there is something in the small print about “only if you sell one of the others” but I think she....er Santa will forget about that.

Nicknamed it the Death Star. Not found anything to stop it in its tracks so far.

A bazillion torques and more twiddly knobs than err, a thing with lots of twiddly bits.
Fox Factory 180 boingers so deffo a sledgehammer to crack a nut but that’s how I like to roll. Quite muddy out there today.
Happy eebing.

Do you have studded tyres? I haven’t dared to take my boys to school on the triplet in this snowy weather. I do have a pair of studded tyres but haven’t swapped them over so we walk.

New ride is on it's way

Thank you!
The bike above is for my almost 3y old son. I still fancy a dirt bike/something to ride/try pumptrack.

Great idea this "Zwift-thing". Is this like "Strava"?

Get them cycling. The earlier the better...:)

Will drop a link below for Zwift
It’s an online app/platform cycle trainer. You just need a turbo trainer and connect your existing bike to it.
I wasn’t sure at first.
Got involved this year and I think it’s a great idea. Especially for those of us who live in Northern Europe through winter.
Have a look :thumb
