After 15 years or so of talking about it, and now the kids are both at uni, we finally took the plunge and bought a Cali and imported it from Germany to France.
We went for a pre registered, delivery mileage, Beach from a dealer near Stuttgart (www.autounger.com). Really good price compared to buying in France and Uli at the dealership couldn’t have been more helpful. Small PITA getting it registered in France but got there in the end!
It’s a 4motion Edition version and I keep discovering features I didn’t realise it had! The heated windscreen and seats have been great here in the Alps!
Hoping to get plenty of use out of it as a multipurpose vehicle and then hand it on to the kids one day. So far very pleased and this site has been a great help so thanks!
