Hello

HELP PLEASE. Wind vs awning!

I’ve had a wind out awning mishap with the wind on our California beach. Strong winds meant the bottom legs snapped off whilst we were away from the van and we’ve noticed now that one of the brackets that attaches the awning has moved. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? Does anyone know how to replace the legs (i think I’ve found the part to buy), but unsure how to undo the fixing (see photos) You can also see where the awning is coming away from the van. And a photo of the legs that we need to unscrew as they’ll need replacing!

Many thans

The leg joint at the awning comes in two parts. There is a casting that goes into the leg: part no 1500601603

Then there is an alloy u-shaped bracket that mounts into the awning cassette part no. 1500600296

From memory it is just a question of taking the end cap off and I think an allen key to slacken the u-bracket and it should come out.

Please please double check the part numbers!!! I replaced mine as they had become worn and sometimes the leg would get stuck. They should come in packs of two.

It is really difficult to tell from your photo, but the cassette may have been pulled off the bracket. It rests in a groove in the bracket and a flanged bolt goes from the cassette body through a hole and screws into the bracket to secure it. The bolt might have pulled through, but again it is really difficult to tell from the picture.

The Lower aluminium leg is held into the top leg via a plastic insert , the insert is held in by a stainless steel screw, undo the screw, remove the plastic insert and the lower leg will come out of the upper, there is a plastic clip, pin, spring and friction plate to refit.

Edit, looks like only the whole leg is available, give the supplier a call

Clud shop will be able to supply parts also

Thank you, that’s very helpful.

I have another photo from the top of the bracket / awning fixing if that provides any further guidance…
