We recently bought an inflatable kayak which now takes up the space in the boot where our Bromptons were so this forced me to consider an acceptable way to carry the bikes as well as the kayak. A couple of hours research and I found these folding case/bags on eBay for just under £20 a piece. They are padded and can be packed away flat when not required and also can be covered with the cover that comes with them. I'm quite happy with them (that is of course relative because when we want to use the lower bed they will have to go in the footwells or on the front seats, but that is a small inconvenience for the gain in carrying our 'toys' for road and water
