Dear all,
My T6 Beach had a build week 47 (a week monday ago). Does that mean it is now built? How long is the actual build process? I know I'll get the van sometime in January but I was wondering if anyone had a detailed breakdown of how long each stage is?
How long does it take to build a Cali? 1 week? 2 weeks?
Is the rest of the time transporting? How long do dealers need with the delivered van before it's ready to be picked up?

The base vehicle is built without the roof in the Van factory and then moved to the Special Vehicle section where the roof and the rest of the specialist equipment is fitted. Then it will be checked. Transported to the Docks and wait for the next ship. Shipped to UK, and then wait at import dock until transported to Dealer. Can wait for up to 4 weeks or more at the Docks in Europe and UK.
Actual build time of the whole vehicle is about 2 weeks I believe.

We have a T6 Ocean on order with confirmed build week 16 (2016), the garage have said it will take 1 week to build it and 3 to deliver it, so they are estimating mid May for us (orderedon 15 Jan 2016) so 4 months all in (hopefully)

Had week 14 and dealer says it is about to arrive.
Not getting overexcited though, with all the VW dates magic. They probably collaborate with Microsoft on time estimates :D

Yes - that's what they told me too. It takes a week to build a Transporter. There is then a second stage build process for a California. My dealer appeared to be completely oblivious to this and appeared confused when the tracking system showed it was 'in build' but hadn't come out the other end. Others on the forum have been told 3 to 5 weeks build time for a California + 3 to 4 weeks delivery to the dealer. So that's 6 to 9 weeks from the start of the confirmed build week. Mine took 7 weeks in total - 3 and a half weeks build + 3 and a half weeks transit.

However, as with all things VW there seem to be plenty of exceptions to the 'rules'. Hope your's is at the shorter end of the timescale and you get to play with it soon. We're loving ours.
