Cabin lights

Very handy vid!
I'm just back in from wrestling with mine to try and help but couldn't see how to remove. The handbooks no help whatsoever!

As far as I see in the vid there‘s a metal nose/clip on the right side (in the middle?) and he just squeezes his „knive“ in there?

Here‘s a written description:

Just a thought - I'm sure these lights come on and dim off when my doors are opened. This means they are 'controlled' by something which may not like a LED or not work well with a remote controlled LED, which to use the remote would mean a permanently fed supply, with its associated permanent current draw, even when 'off'.
It may work fine (as per the video) but not as expected and would need left on (using the light switch) if you wanted to remotely control...
A straightforward LED may be a better choice...

I went for the straightforward LED option not long after getting Cali, Car White Dome 12 LED 5050 SMD Interior Bulb Light 42mm, 2x 5 LED 360° T10 Bulb Indicator Xenon Sidelight White Perfect To Replace Standard 501 W5W T10 168 194 Bulbs for the centre console and I think these were the ones I used to replace the vanity mirror lights.2x 3 SMD LED 39MM 239 C5W XENON WHITE INTERIOR LIGHT FESTOON NUMBER PLATE BULB DOME LAMP to replace the vanity mirror lights. Total spend approx. £5.
The light is much brighter than it was

Beware the vanity mirror ones are prone to flickering dependant on mirror and switch positions.
Also looked at replacing the boot light and the glove box bulbs - still WIP.
