Calais to Santiago de Compostella

Hi Cali friends. Will be travelling from Calais to Santiago de Compostela and back at end of May, Does anyone have recommmendations for campsites on the journey which are close to beautiful Old towns/villages ?

What route are you taking?
Coastal through France to Biarritz out cross country?

No set route preference yet, would prefer to spend more time in Spain than France but like the idea of calling at a few beautiful old French villages with campsites nearby. Oradour sur Glane looks an interesting stop off and Potes in Picos is on list as heard good things.
