Afternoon all,
Strictly speaking, this is not a California question, but since the I'm talking about the 5th seat that came from a Cali, then I'm posting this question here.
So we recently purchased a T6 California Ocean that came with a 5th seat (with integrated child seat); looking at it, I don't think it has been used much (if ever), since we don't need it, I was going to just sell it, but last night while giving it a dust down to take some pictures to help with selling, I had the idea of somehow converting it into an office chair.
I know of a couple of companies that do this for car seats, but of those I know of, they only do conversions (or DIY kits) for a very specific handful of car seats and the VW Cali seat is not one of them.
Does anybody on here know of a company that can do this for me?
I don't think it would be too complicated for somebody with the right skills (which I don't possess); I'm guessing the lower part of the seat with the swivel mechanism and storage drawer would need to be removed and the seat mounting onto some sort of framework to which an office chair mechanism could be fit so that it can be put on a gas lift and then onto a wheeled base just like a normal office chair.
If I can't find anyone who can do the conversion, I will just sell it, but thought it was worth asking on here first.
