Can anyone identify this cable ?!

Got back to my ‘24 plate 6.1 Beach Camper in a car park today and could see a loop of something hanging underneath the van nearly touching the ground.
Opened the bonnet and pulling on the cable I’m holding on the picture I managed to pull the loop of hanging cable up from below.
Anyone any idea what this cable is for ?

Can you follow the lead in both directions to see where it ends/begins?
I would say it looks like a cable from the towbar, but it wouldn't be there in the engine compartiment.

Thanks. Thinking about it that’s highly plausible. The VW dealers had a 3rd party fit a towbar before I collected the van. Will have a grovel around on the floor tomorrow……

I was about to say, that doesn’t look OEM to me with those cable ties!!!
