Cannot remove stereo

Hi All,

I'm trying to remove head unit / stereo from 2005 VW Cali.
Removal keys do not unblock the unit (have a feeling that something else is holding it).
Thought about removing a dash to see if there are any screws there, but it looks like head unit should go first (since it is blocking the dash).

Anyone with same dash who removed/changed unit?

I would appreciate any suggestion

Is the phone mount screwed through the stereo mounting cage & into the stereo? Remove that & try again.

I do not really understand how that phone mount is attached. I see no screws and cannot remove it...

Problem is solved and i hope the solution will be usefull for someone with same issue
I had to make 2 simple identical tools which I used to unblock unit from outside.

I found the removal keys had to be pushed right in until they clicked, and cheap keys just bent. Got it done by mechanic in the end, took 20 seconds...
