Central front rubber mat

Hi
Has anyone found a rubber mat that fits between the manufacturer's front mats, to protect the carpet from stains?
My Goldie lies there while travelling, and occasions soiling to the central area that I would love to protect - from the floor trim behind the seats, right to where the bulkhead under the gear change meets the floor.
Any help would be appreciated!

I just got a cheap door mat from Morrison’s and cut it to fit between the seats. Nice and thin so it tucks under the two front mats.

Unfortunately no Morrisons in N Ireland lol!
But am travelling down England in August so could maybe purchase then.
Are scissors adequate for trimming to size / shape?

You can get self adhesive clear carpet protector film, used by builders and decorators, it could be changed easily as required and will still allow the original carpet look to be maintained

I just used heavy duty scissors.

We have an Ikea door mat that we cut to fit between the two seats. It just needed trimming around the handbrake. It doesn't reach all the way up under the dashboard but that's not normally where we are putting our feet!
