Centre caps

Bit of an odd one.

I've now lost 2 wheel centre caps in 650 miles.

It's hardly major but annoying..........

Anyone else had a similar issue?

Tea leaves. Some scrote damaged all mine in a car park trying to steal them. And they are not cheap! Also watch out as the hamfisted tyre monkeys make a good job of breaking the lips that hold them in.

Not in this case - one went AWOL between being pulled out off the garage (when it was on) and parking at friends when it had gone!

Second one I noticed was loose and actually fell out whist I was washing it! All clips on the back bust.

Odd. Do they put them in at PDI? If so they they use a hammer?!!

Generally all that type of stuff is put on at PDI . I see lots of VW's on the M180 coming from Immingham (one of vw group uk ports) on my way to work and they don't come with centres so it looks like a poor fitting job. A chat to the dealer I think.

Yes, we have had this on Miyato alloys across several different vehicles on our hire fleet, and also on some of our golfs. We lost so many that we've given up on buying them and now run the vehicles without centre caps. Not sure what the problems is, and it only seems to be on our 2012 > vehicles?? We have on a couple of them, superglued the caps on, and not had a problem since. Not sure of the warranty aspect on this, but for the price of the caps I had just replaced them.

HTH

Weird!
I will have had my California for 6 years in May, running miyato alloys too and have never lost a centre cap. Could yours be from a bad batch??

I had the same problem after 500 miles I had lost one cap from a Dakar alloy & when washing the Cali another one fell out, when I looked at the back of the cap the fixing lugs had been fractured when fitted. I took some pictures and emailed the dealer who then sent a new set of centre caps.

I would put the problem down to forced fitting at the dealer as I have fitted the new caps carefully and had no further problems.

Just noticed one of mine missing at the front, coincidentally a week after new tyres put on by Kwik fit. I note that the tyre monkey appears to have removed it with a hammer and chisel so I suspect the fit wasn't the best on refitting!
Any advice on sourcing replacements?
Cheers

Great, I was amazed / impressed with them. Thought it was going to be another California accessory wallet killer!

I agree what a bargain! Unusual in California world.
