Cleaning the Iso-Top

My Iso-Top has been stored off the vehicle and has become a little smelly. What is the best way to clean it prior to fitment to the vehicle?

(I have tried a search without success).

Is there no washing label on the product?

Maybe some fresh air will do...

If not:
Since it's made of a breathable coated / laminated fabric you should handle with some care like a gore-tex or similar garment: washing with a mild detergent without fabric softener and/or perfume. It can be washed in the washing machine at 40ºC but you have to rinse it thoroughly. Because it is waterproof (more or less) the water is not going through the fabric so rinsing in a tumbling machine is mostly rinsing just the outside of the bundle. Rinse it twice. Or preferably: rinsing the second time by hand in a bath-tub, this is doing a better job. Or, since it is a quite large piece of fabric: put it on the line in the garden an do a last rinse with the garden hose.

(I don't have a Iso-top but after selling outdoor garments and tents for 17 years, I have some experience about this kind of fabrics and how to treat them)

Deskman, it does have a label stating hand wash only. I should have been more specific as to my needs. I was wondering about the type of product to use in it.
Yes, I understand it is gortex so I could hand wash using the Nikwax Tech Wash I have then perhaps spray with Nikwax TX Direct to re-proof.

You don't need to use Nikwax TX to reproof since it is living on the inside of your roof. There will be no water spraying directly on the fabric and the coating/laminate is waterproof by design.

Since the thing is not dirty, only smelly, I think jus a little amount of detergent will do.

And like tents: storing it for longer time? Put it loosely folded in a cotton bag (pillowcase perhaps) and store it in a dry and well ventilated place.
