Hi all,
My espresso maker has just exploded in my van ruining the ceiling ( underside of top bed ) and marking a lot of the trim around the cab. Can I get a replacement for ceiling ? I can’t imagine any cleaning products that will tackle this ? 28D88519-87A6-4D5C-8859-81415070AF92.jpeg

Wow ! Are you sure it was screwed on correct ? No injuries or burned by the hot water ?
As for the replacement of the fabric i think it would be hard to replace and unsure if VW sell those seperate . A whole new bed maybe ?

Not sure what happened as it just clicks together, couple of blisters and a cut on fingers luckily had my glasses on at time as it’s gone everywhere. Royally p#%#ed but hey ho.

Look for a “ Good “ valet company. Plastic trim shouldn’t be a problem. If the roofing fabric cannot be cleaned fully then it could be replaced but likely to be expensive. You could consider getting it recovered as an alternative. Different fabrics are available, colours and even bespoke such as maps etc.

Think most of us would be so gutted if that happened or even a tiny % of that. As others said seek professional advise.

Had exactly the same happen in my kitchen at home just last week.

the filter plate above the coffee had fallen out so everything exploded up the spout
what a mess

so sorry it's happened in your van. I'd be gutted

Don’t know if it would work on such a big area, I use autglym interior shampoo on small marks , works a treat. Given the cost though I would go to a professional

WD40 gets most marks off plastic trims (but do not get it near the soft/fabric trim). Just spray some into a cloth and give it a rub.

Sorry to read and see this Dixie...What brand is/was your coffee maker? Others may need to be aware of safety issues. Also how old? In ordinary usage your injury and damage should not happen. Seek advice on manufacturer or sellers liability.

For a stain that serious I would not touch it but get a specialist to do the job. You could cause more damage trying to fix.

I’m away in van working until October so I’ve had a go myself rightly or wrongly. I’ve tried three products and the Autoglym interior shampoo spray worked best. Autoglym foam shampoo and Auto finesse Total interior cleaner were both rubbish (for coffee). The stain hasn’t disappeared but looks a whole lot better, I will post a photo went it has dried out. Hopefully a professional can help me when I get home. D83C6CCB-9221-449E-A94B-C48E5FCBA3D2.jpeg

It’s an Alessi espresso maker and I’ve had it for years with no problems so I can only say it was my fault as I can’t see anything wrong with the seal. Maybe time for a new though haha.

Thanks, perhaps a blocked internal tube? Limescale? Good luck with the clean-up.

If it helps I would agree the stay is a little better than the foam. I usually have first go (trying to get the worst off) then have another go a few days later after it has dried out.

On a side note have used the autoglym autofresh , this is good for removing lingering odours as well.

Thanks, I’m letting it dry out and will have another go. Will try the autofresh too, cheers

No bother , hope it works for you. I should say I don’t work for autoglym it sounds like I do.. I carry the autofresh, glass, vinyl , and fabric cleaner in the door pocket ready just in case... the glass cleaner works well on shower doors..

Keeps the soap marks away for a long time , especially when my daughter has a shower.

Both linings are available for ordering.
The big one is € 360, the small one is € 375. (In Belgium that is).

Oh thanks TripleBee, do you have any links or part numbers ? Would like to replace them as I don’t think it will ever be the same again, even considered getting a new van lol.

If you are going down that route you could remove the parts and try and clean them not in situ.
