Compact shelter ideas

We use the Quest Screen house 6 pro. Great as its huge, and also comes with optional Van Connection. Now the only issue if you have a pop top Cali is storage, as the packed size is 30x30x6ft!... So it's great in our California as it stands up straight whilst travelling in the Kitchen, strapped to the towel rail, that way we can still access the toilet room and take up very little floor space (less than 1ft square)

The awning is a pop out one, like the new style windbreaks. 1 Minute and its ready to be pegged down, can be used as a shelter, with fly mesh style sides or they have curtains too for an enclosed feel. With the van connect it works as a driveaway.

Seen here in driveaway mode with the side panels down, with them up and the flyscreens in place its a very light bright and airy place to sit.

For us (2 adults 2 kids eldest now 10) we have Been using one of these 2 decathlon pop up tents. Since we have had our Cali new in 2012.

We always go over to the continent every year for at least 2 weeks.

It’s awesome packs up flat. And great to chuck all the stuff in. We can it the garage.

We are now on our second version. The first one breaking, simply replaced it at the nearest decathlon.

We also have a L Coleman event shelter, which is great to give you cover from the rain or sun. Given its size it does not take up too
Much room and stows away quite nicely at the back of the bottom shelf.

We have also had a blow up drive away awning which we no longer use. (I need to find it a new home)
Thanks, yeh either the pop up small tent or the larger decathlon shelter seems like the best bet

link here to tarps we use - come with 3 connection points on each side for pole/pegs etc. HIKEMAN Outdoor Waterproof Multi-Purpose Camping Tent Tarp Ground Covering Groundsheet Mat Tent & Awning Carpet Multiple Size For Camping Hiking Picnic(Updated-grey,180 * 210cm) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C3CMK2QY?tag=eliteelect-21
Thanks for this, was looking for a tarp in an alt colour like @Perfectos had done (but this added bonus of already having eyelets!). Just out of interest 210cm would mean it doesnt quite go to the edges of the awning when the kador attached right?

Confirmed - but it is near enough for me. They also do a 3mx3m...

We use this, goes up and down in a second, small pack size. You can get a lot of things into it, and has a small footprint ... always goes with us for carseats, paddlebords and any other stuff, cant recommend it enough

Recently bought the exact same thing. First thing we do on arrival is erect the tent and put gear in it as we set up, boots, bags, fishing tackle, etc. literally goes up in a minute ( not 2 sec.) great bit of kit.

Have a look at the Olpro Kitchen tent, saw one at Busfest last year and really liked it for storage usage, my only concern about these separate tents/shelters is a lot of campsites seem to charge extra for them whereas an “awning” is usually free.
Like that OlPro is a local Worcestershire business as well

We find that a Fiamma sun screen works well to offer some wind and sun protection as well as some extra privacy if overlooked.

These look cool! Do you happen to know the packed down size? Don’t seem to say in the details
