Have just tried to turn control panel unit on and no life/display. Hasn't been used for a couple of weeks and control knob issue commonly discussed on forums had been present for a while but could still be used with patience.
Panel isn't original - previous owner replaced unit in 2015.
If anyone has any suggestions would be much appreciated.
I've read previous threads which cover issues with knob and deteriorating display but can't find anything relating to no display.
Worst case scenario would be replacement unit - if so does anyone have experience of sourcing replacement/cost etc.
I've just removed unit so if anyone could recommend UK based repair service that would also be great. I have tried to contact electronic equipmentrepair but no response so far.

Thanks for pointing out. Have just reconnected unit and turned engine on and it's sprung into life. Sorry to have failed to engage my brain and thanks for doing it for me.
While on, do you know if replacing knob is a straightforward job?
Thanks again

It is .Difficult part is removing Control Panel, which you have done.

Thanks again.
Do you know what permissions are required to download the guide?
Also, are replacement knobs easily sourced?

VIP membership is required. Replacements can be sourced from Forum Shop or eBay I believe.

I just replaced my button:

Really easy, I’d encourage anyone to do it.

Brilliant. Thanks for this. I'll get replacement knob ordered today. Thanks for all the helpful posts

Ciao, io l'ho appena sostituita 1121,00 euro in VW

If you are not too bothered about having the original look knob, you can order a 6mm spline, 19.7mm diameter amplifier knob from Rapid Electronics on eBay. Don't order the 3D printed ones advertised elsewhere, they are the wrong material so do not fit the splines very well.

I should have said these cost £3.19!

Thanks for your message. Ended up fitting one of the 3d printed knobs - not a great fit but managed to get it to work. I'll take your advice and order one from Rapid Electronics
