Well it arrived back today from Vertronics, fitted it and all works fine. Total cost was £107 and the service was excellent. The delay was caused by my bank which failed/forgot to process the bank transfer properly. Payment was the only issue I encountered otherwise top marks to Vertronics.

As above the control panel went blank ... tried it a few times over two weeks, again nothing. Took it into the dealer =-- where it is now ... who tell me that there is nothing wrong with it now, all working... At the time it went blank, the fridge also went off etc. Clearly the issue is intermittent... do I just accept it back or is there some underlying / will get worse .. thing going on here ?????

You say warranty nearly ended. Once you have reported a fault under warranty & is repaired or no fault found & it subsequently fails again after warranty ends they should still repair under warranty.

thanks folks .... 2015 180 SE manual.. have updated the entry... Had a session with the Cali expert at Carr's in Cornwall ... very friendly and helpful ... says they've checked everything and no faults. good to know that the post warranty proviso applies .. so will ritually use every control every day from here on and test it until confidence returns or something else occurs. To infinity and beyond .....

well confidence did not last long ...... put the roof up last night on return from the dealer to dry out ( noticed that a couple of the roof mechanism screws had gone rusty !!!) This morning went to put it down and again... first of all the control panel would only register 'roof open' ... which of course I knew... then back to the 'ignition on' display despite the fact that the engine was running. Few unsuccessful tries at that and then rang my new best friend Tom at Carr's ..... nothing they can do unless the problem happens when they test it is the theme as v.w. will not authorize a replacement panel otherwise .... again the diagnose facility indicates 'no errors'.... went back and tried for the fourth time just with ignition on, no engine running .. and the thing closed without demur. So if I'd driven the 80 mile round trip to the dealer and no fault found ...... plan is just to carry on regardless and call V.W. assist if I get stuck I suppose ... hey ho...

I sent my camper control unit to ES Technical as mentioned above over a year ago. I've been chasing them ever since, long since bought a new unit, but would like the old one back - possible repairer in Germany on Ebay? Would not recommend ES.

From my experience I would reccomend Verotronics in Holland, great service reasonable price and it is working fine.

Sfortunatamente il display del mio secondo pannello di controllo centrale è ora quasi illeggibile! Ho provato la riparazione come descritto nel forum qui sotto diverse volte, ma nessun miglioramento. VW non mi aiuterà perché la garanzia è scaduta.
Ora sto cercando un riparatore o magari acquistare un'unità ricondizionata. Qualcuno ha idee/contatti?
