CTEK Smartpass + D250 - problem with mode recognition

I just finished installing a CTEK Smartpass and a D250 under the seat. Overall everything seems to be working as it should. There is only one small problem. Quite often the camper panel does not recognize where the power is coming from. The screen alternately flashes the battery and generator icon. I then have to turn the panel off and on and it shows correctly.
Does anyone perhaps know on what basis the panel knows where the power is coming from and what icon to light up. Or maybe someone has installed CTEK and knows how to deal with this?
