Dash Heater Blower Fan Fuse for T5.1

Hi All,
My dash blower fan suddenly stopped working today on all speeds, anyone know when the fuses are?
My Cali is a 2010 T5.1 with Climatic Heater, all the fan speed lights illuminate as I increase/decrease but the fan just doesn't spin at all so I don't think it's the blower resistor pack thermal fuse as usually max speed still works when that's faulty so thought I'd try the main fuses first once I find out where they are, any ideas?

I only changed the blower fan motor last year so I doubt that's faulty but I will pull it out again if the fuses are intact.

Upper fuse block in central lower dashboard. 7.5amp fuse position 15. But as you know the fuse position can vary but it should be 7.5amp.

I just noticed in my pictures below that my Heater Blower Motor Resistor is the newer type part no 7L0907521B with a heatsink, see picture below, and not as described in my notes below but these may still be useful to some users.

SOLVED
My 7.5A fuse is in position 14 and nothing in 15 but it wasn't blown anyway, checked all the other fuses and those under the seat and all OK. Even though I only changed the blower motor 9 months ago I thought I may as well take it out and check it as it's only takes about 20 minutes by switch off and remove key, pop off the passenger side dash cover and small left hand front dash trim then 10 Torx 20 screws to release the lower dash.
Before removing the motor I disconnect the power plug and confirmed there was 12v with the fan control on various speed settings , there was so I knew there was an issue with the motor.
I removed the 7 bolts 7/32" that hold the blower on and it drops out easily.
Once the blower motor was off I noticed a little rust on the shaft and a slight resistance when spinning by hand so a good clean and grease then connected the power plug and all working fine again so reassembled everything all is now working again

Whilst researching the possible causes of the blower motor not working I made the following notes and links to help future diagnostics...

TYPES OF BLOWER FAULTS

1. Blower doesn’t work at all – even on the high (4) setting.
2. Blower works on full (4) and on a lower speed setting , but not at all settings.
3. Blower speed works on full setting (4) but not on slower settings.

Fault scenario 1) is most likely to be a faulty fan motor (siezed or worn brushes) or motor supply fuse, since the motor circuit does not include the resistor pack.

Fault scenario 2) is most likely to be a burned out section of the resistor assembly but NOT the thermal fuse. This will require a replacement VW resistor assembly.

Fault scenario 3) the only fault is likely to be the thermal fuse fitted on top of the assembly which is spot welded to two tags at the top. You cannot solder this part so a new Heater Blower Thermal Fuse from eBay etc. must be fitted mechanically as shown in https://www.vweosclub.com/threads/repairing-my-blower-motor-resistor-pack.4951/

Thanks for an excellent description. But I don’t know how remove the “AIRBAG” silver trim. As shown in the attached pic it’s in one piece, not two parts as in all tutorials. It’s a clip in at the right that seem to be stuck. Should I just increase the force and remove it all?

Ok I don't have any experience of that model but looking at your picture I'd say that whole lower section would come of in one piece.

Yeah, that’s my conclusion as well but it seem a plastic clip holding the small went towards the door is stuck.

I got a quote from the work-shop. They can replace the resistor/relay for about 150€ incl work. For another 75€ they also can grease up the vents (dismounting part of the dash). I’m definitely tempted. Thanks.

Thanks. I will look into this and give it another try. It’s definitely not a difficult job, even for me, but the trim removal is the trix.

I managed finally to remove the trim. It wasn’t like the several videos I have looked at. There a was an anoying plastic pin that I had to break (see picture). Probably I should have used a tool to press it out from inside. Got impatient . Then I hade to remove the glove compartment, the bottle holder and then a small trim to be able to reach all the screws.
Now I’m waiting for 5,5 mm socket to able to unscrew the unusual VW hexagon screws from the resistor.
I am considering changing the fan as well.
Not sure if it’s the resitor. The fan runs on all speeds for about 4-5 minutes and then it stops. Could it be the coals?
