Hello all I’m no mechanic so was wondering if it’s possible to fit the mechanical diff lock to a 4 motion California has anyone ever done this or is it a no no many thanks

Requires new rear differential, possibly Haldex and wiring + coding if the BCM has the relevant software +/- ABS changes. Check on the T6 Forum as they are more into these sort of modifications.

If you need a diff lock on a 4WD Cali one has to wonder where you are thinking of taking it!

Maybe a Land Rover with a roof tent will work better ;)
 
W461 G Wagon would be better, Selectable 4WD, Hi/Lo Ration and two Hydraulic diff locks, Front & Back, necessary ground clearance and good departure and approach angles.

If its good enough for the Australian Army it is good enough!
