Hi All,
In my California 6.1 (2024), the digital cockpit is causing me some irritation.

I have always had it set up with an analogue dial left and right and short term driving data in the middle, it's been like that for months.
The other day I changed it to navigation, map, in the middle, and now I can not get it to default back to the short term driving data, how ever many times I change it back to that setting.
Every time I re-start after a few seconds the middle section returns to the map.
Whilst this is not a life changing issue, I find it a little bit annoying, does anyone have any advice on the subject??

Thanks,
Mike

Watching with interest as I have the same question!!!!

The only time I have had this is when using nav. As soon as I put the map onto the drivers screen, I can’t get rid of it. Have to cancel nav to get it off.

My startup defaults to map in the central section and has done since new.

You have to change where the nav data is displayed using the menu on the infotainment screen in the centre of the dash - not the controls on the steering wheel.

Hi We have recently encountered the same issue and we prefer the range to be the default Can anyone point us to how to get this back permanently?

Where abouts in the menu is this setting hidden.

You might need the ignition on to do this. So I am assuming you have the satnav map displayed in the center of the instrument cluster.
- Switch on the central display (radio, phone, nav etc) in the middle of the dash
- Select Nav (press the Nav button)
- Bottom right of the nav screen, there is a menu button (black box, 3 horizontal bars, only appears when your hand is near the touch screen). Touch this menu button
- Un-tick the box for 'Display Nav in instrument cluster'

Sit back and wonder how long VW worked on making it this hard!
