Noticed the rubber trim by the door surround coming off/peeling off. Anyone had this issue? DIY or is it a specialist job?

As this is the one on the driver's side/sliding door, this strip extends all the way to the top tear of the sliding door.

I had exactly the same, in the same spot. Lucky for me it was under warranty still, so I didn't have to deal with it. Interested in the answer for a DIY fix in case it happens again...

An update. New part ordered from Just Kampers.

Should arrive in a day or two. From the looks of it, it seems that it is stuck on. Will need to remove the current one, clean up the glue, and then stick on the new one.

Should be simple, should it not be?
Will it be simple? ... ah! will let you know.

An update for anyone reading this thread.

Though I got the door seal from justkampers, did not have the heart to remove the full seal, then clean the sticky residue everywhere and then stick an aftermarket door seal. So here's what I did

1. Got a tube of 3M black super weatherstrip adhesive.

2. Cleaned the area behind where the weather strip had torn, applied the adhesive, and used some masking tape to hold the rubber in place while it dried.

Viola, all done and fixed now.

Thanks for this. We had the same issue this week. Wondered why the window wasn't closing. Have pushed the rubber seal back in place and seems OK for now. I wonder why it has happened in the same place.

The cold weather can cause it as the seal sticks to door, it’s worth using Vaseline or silicone spray on seals.

I keep saying I should get some Gummi Pflege and then forgetting. That would keep the seals in good condition wouldn't it?

@KernowMaid , yes Gummi Pflege is the best treatment for Rubber.

Two points to clarify/note:
1. In case of my door seals, I use Gummi Pflege regularly. This tear was on the rubber attached to the body that helps seal when the door closes. I regularly (twice a year) apply Gummi Pflege. I would classify this as a factory issue, as the rubber there seems to have been stretched more than it should have been, which over time caused it to detach from the body.

2. In your post above, you mention the Windows not closing, that would point to a loose window border piping and not this rubber strip that I mention. However, that border piping strip (hope that is the correct term) can also be stuck on using this 3M adhesive. Just use a very small dab and spread. it is very very sticky.
