Drivers door lock

Hi. My Cali has done 70k miles. Drivers door often needs two or three goes to make it shut fully, ie shows open when starting. Dealer has had two goes, lubricate etc. It's just a bit annoying. Anyone had this problem with theirs, and if so any simple remedies? Many thanks. Chris

Unfortunately no simple remedies. The door opening is indicated by a microswitch inside the door lock mechanism (see pic with red arrow below). To even take a look at it involves - taking off the door panel and then accessing the mechanism from the inside (both relatively easy to do, provided you have the time, and instructions on taking off the door panel somewhere on this forum).

If it is locking correctly and it is only the indicator, then rather than oil, I would try a strong puff of air to blow out any debris causing the issue (edit: use a air can with an extension pipe to reach inside).

If that does not heal the issue, then someone will have to look inside.

Are the two bolts that you see in the pic tight on your lock?
